Just like in football, executing your strategy effectively comes down to the day-to-day performance of your team.
Yet in business, coaching usually stops at the strategic level.
Not the in football.
Why?
Because they know that without effective execution, strategy is nothing more than words on a page.
Last night, the Philadelphia Eagles were the perfect example of this.
They outplayed the Kansas City Chiefs on both sides of the ball.
In fact, the Eagles defense executed their positions so well they were able to:
- Intercept three passes, including a pick six.
- Sack the quarterback 6 times without blitzing.
- Keep them from scoring at all for the majority of the game.
The Eagles offense also executed perfectly, scoring 34 of their 40 points using a mix of plays and players.
We see it all the time in business, too.
The companies that can pivot and adapt are the ones that thrive.
You have to be able to execute your strategy and make real-time adjustments to win.
